“Just been skulking around and staying on the QT” (9/16 AM)

Came in, went unconscious for a few hours, then was rousted out to go again. Now have moved back a bit west for some decompression.

We keep pushing them back, but then they reform and push back from another angle along no man’s land. We started moving quite a bit deeper into their held areas…..even spending a few nights rough in a seam that runs NE from the SE of Kreminna. Not seeing anything really close to what the manuals teach per Russian doctrine. They seem to be scattered in bunches along a very loose line, with no real defensive depth.

We pinned (pinned locations on an app–ed.) 14 units, some small and some as large as a Company. In the last few days have not fired a shot, just been skulking around and staying on the QT. We only did DA on one company size unit with APCs, trucks and towed artillery. Real mash-up. They got slammed, and a lot of sympathetic activity from artillery shells. Would have been a great ambush op if we had the numbers and direct support. But, had to highball it as a bunch of the Wilburs started taking to the weeds in every direction….wounded and otherwise.

Seeing some poor bastard missing parts trying to crawl away pretty much summarizes this war.

We are all stunned right now….in zombie mode from lack of sleep, food and constant tension. But, we are alive. I am going to eat and sleep. Will be on a bit later now that I have some time.
